I drove up to AR every weekend from the beginning of June to the 4th of July. We had always said we were going to spend 2 weekends a month each in AR and Louisiana (now refered to as Lousy) but sometimes it just doesn't work out that way. So the whole month of June I was either reading for class or driving. We are now spending the rest of July and half of August in Lousy to make up for all the missed weekends.
But since everyone likes pictures, I have put up some of what we did on the weekend of the 4th. Leighanne's mom's birthday is the 4th so we do a lot of stuff with her. Since it is hard to keep her or me off the bike, of course we went for a birthday bike ride. The real accomplishment was getting Leighanne on the bike. It is not as hard now as it used to be. I think she enjoys it more now.
Here is a pic of Leighanne and her Mom on the River Trail

In addition to making our own beer (the last was a Peach Pale Ale that is delicious), we are also now infusing vodka. Our first was a strawberry pineapple and this is a pic of the vanilla blueberry we made for Leighanne's mom's birthday.
We had a cookout for the 4th at Leighanne's parent's house. I chose to eat the Pickle-dog. This is a long pickle slice wrapped in hamburger that is then wrapped in bacon (we used turkey bacon to make sure I didn't die after one bite). It was wonderful.
Leighanne has been coming to Lousy the past two weekends and we have been taking it pretty easy. We get up early to watch the Tour de France, I study, she does some work, we ride our bikes on the trainers and then we watch the expanded coverage of the Tour at night. It's been pretty awesome. I'll be done with classes for the summer on August 14 and will not have class again until September 14. I will probably spend most of that time in AR during the week and we'll come to Lousy on the weekends. So if you would like to see me anytime during those few weeks you will most likely find me on the bike or at Vino's. Holla!
